A solid-state drive (SSD) is a Solid state storage which uses ICs to store a data in very efficient manner. It is also called as a solid-state device or a solid-state disk.
We all are aware about Hard Disks, Floppy Disks, Pen Drives, Memory Cards etc. In which Hard Disk and floppy Disks uses optical disks to store data and in other hand Pendrives, Memory Cards, SSDs uses ICs i.e. Integrated circuits to store data..
In the today's fast running world, we are interested in pace, speed in every part of life.. in that how can electronics gadget will left behind..? right?
Here, SSD drive came in picture. SSDs are set of integrated circuits which help us to store a data in very efficient manner and gives us unbelievable speed while writing or reading a data on it.. which is more faster than our hard disks.
Is SSD better than HDD
SSD drive is more reliable and fast than HDD, Which don't have any moving parts like HDDs. HDDs need more power to run their disks while performing. and in other hand SSDs work very efficiently and fastest as they require less power to perform which also results longer battery to laptops and Ipads.
Difference between SSD and HDD
In below table we can see that in every aspect SSDs are way faster and better than our HDDs.
1- Internal SSD 2- External SSD
Internal SSDs are those which can be placed or installed inside Laptop or Computer System. Which is also called as Laptop SSD. There are different types of Internal SSDs available in the market. which are differentiated by their structure and connectors. such as SATA SSD, SATA 2.5 SSD, NVME SSD, M2 Drive SSD, PCIE SSD Etc.
External SSDs are those which can used for On the Go purpose. like our regular external HDDs are. which can be connected to PC or Laptop whenever we want and after work done we can remove it. Which is also called as Portable SSD.
