Everyone is now using digital payment after the Corona pandemic happened. The digital payment option has helped every individual a lot in transactions. People have adopted digital payments for shopping.

Because it is easy to make UPI payments using mobile. With the UPI payment option, the need to keep hard cash in your pocket is over. With the help of a smartphone, you can shop from big malls to small grocery stores through it.

Sometimes in a hurry, if your mobile phone is lost somewhere and it goes to the wrong person, they can also empty your bank account.

So there are a few things to keep in mind while using UPI Payments. Let's know how you can easily deactivate your UPI account if your phone is stolen or lost.

If the phone is stolen or lost, the first thing to do is call the customer care executive of your mobile network and ask them to block your mobile number and SIM immediately. 

The executive will prevent the creation of a UPI PIN using your mobile number. To block the SIM, the customer care executive may ask you for details like your full name, billing address, last recharge details, email ID, etc.

You have to call your bank's helpline number and ask to block your bank account and stop UPI service. After this you have to register an FIR for the lost phone, using which you can resume your SIM and banking services later.

Steps to remember,

1) Call or Visit Customer Care and block your mobile number.

2) Call or Visit the Bank and ask them to block UPI service on your account.

3) File a FIR in the nearest police station
